There are moments that you want to get away from. Sometimes life is overwhelming and you might think that you’re too fragile. Due to personal reasons, I felt like that while working on this issue. Although I felt helpless, somehow I got over it.

You control your own life. Your society is where you belong. You should take responsibility for your life and society and take good care of yourself. What I tried not to forget is this quote by Vivian Greene: “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain.” You have to decide your own fate, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in.

But, to be honest, every single time I thought I’d mastered how to dance, the world reminded me that there are so many genres of dancing. The problems you have and the sorrow you feel will not disappear easily. If one storm has gone, another one will come and will last for a long time. The thing is, you cannot be listless forever. All you have to do is keep learning how to dance in the storm!

In Issue 144, Pharos reflects on some dark aspects of our society. They are about family, the university, Korean society, and the entire world; literally all of the environments surrounding us. The reason why we are talking about these problems is that Pharos hopes to be your partner that you will dance with, in the endless rain. Our world will be pouring non-stop, and it is fine if these problems seem unsolvable. What is important is that we care about them, we think about them, and we try to fix them. Our rain-soaked bodies will make this world a better place. Now, please turn the page if you’re ready to dance.
