The Kyonggi University Autumn Festival, which had been stopped due to COVID-19, has returned to campus for the first time in three years. The fall festival is the biggest event at Kyonggi University and lasts for three days. Let’s find out what kind of events were held at the returning autumn festival and how students at Kyonggi University could enjoy themselves.

Introduction to the Booths

The Kyonggi University Autumn Festival is divided into night booths which are open at night and day booths open only during the day. Most of the day booths are intended for making memories, such as offering street food, taking pictures with friends and winning prizes by throwing a baseball. The night booths are located near the stage where you can see celebrities who are the main attractions of the Kyonggi University festival. Most of the drinking establishments, where the nightlife takes place, are each representative of the individual clubs that run them.

A Senior Graduate from the Class of 2016: There were many booths, from day booths to night booths, but due to festivals being suspended during COVID-19, the younger classes may not be familiar with them. Nonetheless, it was nice to see students doing their best despite never having participated in a university festival before. However, if there is one thing that is regrettable, it is that each department has a tradition that was in place at every festival in the past, but this year’s students were not familiar with these traditions.

A Freshman Student from the Class of 2022: It was my first festival at the university. It was so much fun that I enjoyed the festival for three consecutive days, but I regret that I didn’t make the most of it because I didn’t know what to do as it was my first festival. However, it was so nice to run a night booth and meet not only students from our department but also students from other departments. It was also nice to have an opportunity to interact with seniors who we hadn’t met before. I’m looking forward to next year!

The fall festival of Kyonggi University ended successfully. Of course, there were some individual regrets, but it is meaningful that it has returned after three years. In particular, I was able to see the passion of Kyonggi University students who were excited to participate in the various booths and watch the featured performers on the festival stage.
